Eating Vegan at Taco Bell

Taco Bell is one of the BEST fast food restaurants for vegans (I also enjoy Chipotle, Subway & Bruegger’s when I’m looking for quick and cheap vegan options). 

I don’t eat Taco Bell often because there isn’t one near me at all, but I do seek one out occasionally- mostly when I’m hungover, to be honest.

You can “veganize” most options at Taco Bell. There is an option to substitute any item “Fresco” style, which means they will replace any cheese, sour cream & any other dairy products and instead replace them with pico de gallo. You can also substitute any meat products with beans instead.

My two favorite vegan options at Taco Bell:

1. Taco Salad:

Substitute beans for beef, ask for no cheese or sour cream, and then add rice, potatoes and pico de gallo. 

2. 7-Layer Burrito:

This burrito comes with refried beans, rice, guacamole, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese & sour cream. I ask for no cheese and sour cream and add potatoes instead. This burrito costs around $3 and it’s pretty big for the inexpensive price.

Although it isn’t necessarily the healthiest place to eat, Taco Bell is a great place to go if you are in a hurry or are looking for something cheap and satisfying.
